Free Shipping on Purchases of 5 or More Maps and Prints

Description: It is an original antique map approximately 190 years old, blank on reverse with original handcoloring as issued. The map is nicely documented in the bottom margin with a copyright notice stating that it was entered according to Act of Congress in "1830 by H. & F.J. Huntington of the state of Connecticut." It was published in S.G. Goodrich's Atlas, Designed to Illustrate the Malte-Brun School Geography, (Harford, 1833), a copy of the original title page with the date is included for authenticity. Hezekiah & Francis Huntington were active in Hartford, Connecticut from around 1830-1870, and were also publishing Burritt's Atlas of the Heavens during the same period. It is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the main pic.

Size: The map image area between the neat lines measures approximately 7 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches (20x25cm) on a 9x11" (22x28cm) page

Condition: Good or better, blank on reverse, with original handcoloring as issued. There is a slight darkening along the top margin and a couple of light handling smudges hardly worth mentioning, otherwise it is very clean, a strong impression with bright color printed on a sturdy cotton rag page. Overall, a very nice example that would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. Pics are of the actual map.
