A charming and very rare 19th century carved wooden stylised crocodile or toad from China or South East Asia. It is hand made from a black wood (ebony?), and is decorated with inlaid silver wire, red glass bead eyes and thin, natural material, teeth. It has an old paper label from a previous collector with a collection number of 98. Provenance: Acquired from a reputable antique dealer specialising in ethnic and tribal antiques, originally from an old collection.

Condition: Very good with slight signs of age.
