Description:  It is an authentic antique map approximately 120 years old by Henry Tunison (1855-1915). It was published in his Tunison's Peerless Universal Atlas of the World, 1901 enlarged edition, a copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is from one of the rarer enlarged Tunison editions in which the maps were printed on a large double folio page and published without a centerfold, they are great for framing. Tunison's name appears in the title as well as in his phonetic logo trademark (2 NI Sun).  There is text or another map is printed on reverse. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as shown in the main pic. Overall, a very nice map with strong color that would frame up well!

Historical Note: Henry Tunison (1855-1915), was an Illinois publisher located near Chicago's flourishing publishing industry in the late 19th century. He was a contemporary of George Cram and the Rand McNally Company, both also in Chicago. Unlike his competitors, who were primarily concerned with mass producing accurate atlases at a low cost for the consumer. Tunison was more focused on the quality of the design and vivid colors to make his maps and atlas stand out better among the competition, earning his maps a slightly higher niche in terms of quality, as well as scarcity.

Size: The image area measures approximately 13 by 18 inches (34x45cm) on a 14 1/2 by 22 1/2" (37x57cm) page, flat with no centerfold!

Condition: Very Good for its age with strong color, printed on strong flexible (not brittle) paper. A large flat sheet with no centerfold, nice and flat for framing. There is about an inch diagonal crease on the tip of the bottom left corner in margin not affecting map, otherwise it is very clean with bright color on a strong page, a very nice example for framing, see the pics for more on condition.
