Description: It is an authentic set of two antique map approximately 116 years old with a centerfold as issued. They are by George Cram, published in Chicago, Illinois as stated on the map under the title, which was then published in Cram's Bankers' & Brokers' Railroad Atlas, (New York: John Beatson, 1904), a copy of the title page is included for authenticity. They are not matted nor framed being sold as two single sheets as shown in the main pic. They are some of the larger Cram maps that are scarce to find. The two main pics were taken separately, but the borders do match up exactly, so they could be joined into one huge map, but only do this at your own risk, or use them as two separate maps with a lot of information and detail of the Railroad systems in 1904. Banking towns are circled on the map and railroads are color coded and specified in the explanation. It is a nice set of maps for any railroad historian or collector.
Size: The dimensions of each map area between the neat lines measure approximately 17 by 22 1/2 inches on 18 by 26 1/2" pages (45x67cm). If joined they would measure approximately 22 1/2 by 34 inches with outer dimensions of 26 1/2 by 35 inches (67x90cm).
Condition: The maps are in Good to Very Good condition for their age, with light tonal ageing and typical darkening around the edges, a few very minor short edge tears in the margin, otherwise they are very clean and would frame up well. They are very large maps and a challenge to photograph. The pics are of the actual maps.
