Ukiyo-e were printed several times since Edo period, it is a print using the traditional method. It refers to the technique of creating multiple pictures by transferring or transcribing ink from a woodblock that is carved into japanese style paper.

Commentary: Mishima was an inn station that was crowded with travelers passing through Hakone. It perfectly depicts a traveler walking in front of Mishima Shrine in the morning mist. Only the characters riding the palanquin and the horse are drawn using lines, and the torii gates, houses, and distant travelers are not drawn using lines, but only the shading is used to create depth.
