There are three prints

A portfolio published by The Legend Press, no date but circa 1967

Rex Battarbee was born in 1893 at Warrnambool in Victoria, where his parents were dairy farmers at that time. His sister Florida, already trained as a painter under Walter Withers, guided the cultural life of the district and first introduced Rex to the secrets of the palette. His interest in the Australian aboriginal was first awakened by acquaintance with an old man, the last of the local tribe, who lived in a mia-mia near the Battarbee farm.

The portfolio envelope measures 36cm x 28cm, and each print measures 19cm x 25.cm inserted into a holder that measures 26cm x 31cm.

The prints are:

  • Corkwood Tree, Macdonnell Ranges, N.T.

  • Ghost Gum, Alice Springs, N. T.
  • The Original Envelope: There is light shelfwear. There are no foxing marks, or stains. The Prints: These are all in perfect condition. There are no foxing, creases, tears, chips, or stains. There are no previous owners' inscriptions or names. All prints are bright, fresh and crisp - pristine. It is original.
