Isn't it time you set your hands on an instrument above the cut? Fortunately, Sweetwater's got your 5-string remedy: the Warwick Masterbuilt Streamer Stage I bass. This Masterbuilt bass sits in a class of its own, thanks to a gorgeous flamed maple body combined with a tried-and-true wenge neck and fingerboard. It offers advanced players a highly maneuverable fretboard and neck-through construction — perfect for achieving bending, slapping, popping, complex runs, and more. Other classic Warwick appointments like the Just-A-Nut system and Invisible Fretwork Technology (IFT) combine to make this a bass worthy of demanding studios and brightly lit stages. Lastly, you can bet the Masterbuilt Streamer Stage I howls with the classic “Warwick Growl,” courtesy of two rocking MEC active J/J pickups that dole out the tantalizing tone in masses.
Warwick went the extra mile with the construction of the Masterbuilt Streamer Stage I, and it shows. The flamed maple body turns heads in any room with its gorgeous visual appeal and excellent tonal properties — after all, mountains of sustain and tight bass don't lie. The neck and fingerboard comprised of wenge, a favored tonewood by Warwick for many basses, support the tone and sustain of the maple while offering a comfortable surface for colossal runs, chords, slides, and more.
Apart from its exceptionally picked and matched tonewoods, the Warwick Masterbuilt Streamer I also achieves its signature “Warwick growl” from appointments like its Just-A-Nut III brass nut and Invisible Fretwork Technology (IFT). The nut allows for intricate adjustments of string height while the frets and a 26-inch fingerboard radius ensure you can execute advanced techniques with plenty of room to work. The solid brass Warwick Bridge and Graph Tech Ratio Machine Heads keep resonance in the body and intonation rock solid whether you slap like a boss or play a little more harmonically. Plus, the tuners’ wooden pegs add a little extra charm to the Masterbuilt Streamer I.
Making in-house hardware isn’t cost effective, but Sweetwater bassists think you’ll hear the difference in Warwick's approach. The Masterbuilt Streamer's proprietary hardware includes a brass nut and bridge. Brass delivers richer, clearer tone than other conventional nut and bridge materials, and is more inline with traditional materials used in brass instruments for centuries. Similarly, fingerboard frets are crafted from bell bronze, resulting in a bell-like musicality and a longer fret lifespan than nickel frets.
The Masterbuilt Streamer Stage I is the perfect 5-string bass for advanced bassists that need the tonal coverage for a wide variety of genres and playing techniques. It achieves its signature sound with a pair of MEC active J-style pickups and a 3-way electronics system. Players can easily dial in a wide range of sounds with the mid, treble, and bass controls, plus a blend control to achieve the perfect mix of both pickups. Simply use the balance knob to dial in a core tone using either pickup (or both) and adjust the bass, mid, and treble EQ knobs as needed.
