Description: It is an authentic antique Woodcut Print approximately 145 years old. It is from the first edition of Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War, which was published by McDonnell Bros., Chicago, Ill., part one was published in 1866 and part II in 1868. With the first part completed in 1866, it was one of the first works to put into perspective the account of the Great Rebellion, complete with woodcut illustrations, most of which were drawn on the spot by such artists as Winslow Homer, Granville Perkins, Livingston Hopkins and others for Harper's Weekly which chronicled the Civil War on a weekly basis. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The print is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. There is text on the reverse. Overall, a very nicely preserved print that would frame up well!

Size: The image area measures approximately 9 by 14 inches on a 11 by 16" page with a margin all around as seen in the pic.
