Vintage Japanese Samurai ?? Asian Sitting Doll Figurine 8" Man with Tag on Back

This eBay listing is for a vintage Asian doll figurine that comes as you see pictured in the listing and noted above. I don't know a ton about dolls, even less about Asian collectibles so please review the pictures to see this figurines condition, details, what they are wearing, etc... This doll has some paint loss to his lips and a little dusty with wear to outfit. The back has some writing but I have no clue on what it says. His head appears to be plastic and hands are wood. The overall size is 8" tall.
