Due to the size difference of newer watches, some 42mm bands may not sit flush against 44mm, 45mm, and 49mm casings. Despite this, the 42mm bands are still compatible with 44mm, 45mm, and 49mm watches, as stated by Apple. These small imperfections in alignment are purely cosmetic, and do not affect the functionality of the watch or band.
