Description

The world of Ryukyu Bingata told through approximately 200 valuable materials

Bingata is a masterpiece of dyeing that was nurtured by the light and beautiful nature of Okinawa. It is characterized by vivid colors based on red, yellow, indigo, and black, as well as rhythmic patterns that symbolize nature in a free-spirited manner.

This book brings together the noble costumes inherited from the Sho family, which ruled for a long time as the Ryukyu kings, as well as a variety of fabrics from the famous Yoshitaro Kamakura collection.
