ELM327 is the latest PC-based scan tool. It supports all OBD-II protocols and comes with a range of compatible programs. The processor is an ELM327 and the output protocol (connection to the laptop) is USB. The OBD-II software for ELM327 is a free program that allows you to retrieve information from your car's computer using your PC and a hardware interface. The program is user-friendly and easy to learn. The installation is also very simple. The software supports two platforms - DOS and Windows.
