This tea has its origin in the eponymous region of Anji, which lies in the north of Zhejiang province. The tea acquires its unique golden leaf color only when the tea bushes grow slowly on high mountains and are grown under enough sunlight. Golden Bud is a new variety of light-sensitive, yellow variant green tea. Because of its scarcity, difficulty in cultivation, and high cost of management and maintenance, it has been hailed as the "Panda in Tea" by the industry.

Many people think it is yellow tea, but in fact, it is not. It is made according to the process of green tea, so it belongs to the category of green tea. Golden Bud is not only green tea but also a high-quality tea among green teas. Despite the name, this is actually green tea. Everyone's impression of fresh tea leaves is green. Anji Golden Bud is named because the leaves are yellow all year round, the tea is bright yellow, and the soup is bright yellow. It is a rare species of albino tea germplasm resource and the only yellow variant tea species cultivated.

Its name reflects the fact that it is made from the choicest tender golden bud leaves of this Anji varietal, picked early before the temperature rises so much that they lose that vibrant gold. Standing in the fields of Golden Sprout feels like somebody brushed the tops of the tea bushes with a highlighter.

The leaves are long, narrow & elegant, and open to look feathery and light. We look for the hint of yellow color in the cultivar's folded leaves. This lot was made with buds harvested in spring. Its harvest period is brief and good lots are limited.

You just cannot take your eyes off this fascinating cup color, not to mention the aroma that cannot be found in any other tea - smooth, nutty, sweet and fresh. This delicate, rare tea is rich in health-enhancing theanine and offers a refreshingly delicate flavor. This tea offers fresh berries, spring blossom aroma and clear vibrant citrus yellow infusion. A cup with multiple depths of sweet strawberries, green apple and orchid notes with the lingering sweet mouthfeel.

Brewing guide:
This tea is best brewed at 80°C for about 2 minutes according to your taste and can be brewed multiple times. Due to delicate nature we suggest using good quality spring water to get the best out of this tea.
