This is a previously-owned, adult-sized, red knit winter hat with “Los Angeles Clippers” embroidered on the front and an NBA logo embroidered on the back (New Era brand, 100% acrylic).
The Clippers began in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves (with Bob Kauffman and Don May, then moved to San Diego, California, after the 1977-78 season, and became the San Diego Clippers. In the team’s first season in San Diego, the Clippers posted a winning record, going 43-39, under new head coach Gene Shue, and acquired center Bill Walton. The 1981-82 season brought more changes to the Clipper franchise, and they were sold to a Los Angeles-area real estate developer in 1984.
