007 escapes death in the arctic wastes of Russia in this hi-tech tale of espionage in which evil Max Zorin and his partner in crime May Day attempt to destroy Silicon Valley. However Bond foils their plan to control the world market in computer chip technology.

He pursues the psychotic May Day by seizing a Renault 11 from a local taxi driver after she parachutes from the Eiffel Tower. During a spectacular chase along the banks of the river Seine, the Renault comes to a halt when it is chopped in half by another vehicle. Of course Bond walks away unscathed.
