Etching by german artist Horst Danzer (1934-2019). 1970s.

Hort Danzer was born in Leoben, Austria, in 1934. After leaving school, he studied art teaching at the Düsseldorf and Cologne Art Academies from 1955 to 1961 and was awarded the City of Gelsenkirchen's prize for young artists in 1960. After completing his teacher training, he began studying graphic art with Professor Coester in Düsseldorf before starting his career as a trainee teacher at a school in Essen in 1962.

From 1964-1998 he worked as an art teacher in Oberhausen and at the Anette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. During his professional career as a teacher, he exhibited his works in the municipal area of the Ruhr region from 1960 to 1986. His collection of prints includes watercolours, etchings and drawings with nature and landscape motifs. Other works on paper are impressions from trips to Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Thailand. Others depict encounters with nature. Moors, forests, rivers, lakes, fruit and plants take centre stage here.
