The English painter, Francis E. JAMIESON (1895-1950) became one of the most productive artists of his day after becoming obsessed with painting highland landscapes following a trip to Scotland. Jamieson's paintings became so popular that he was commissioned by several furniture stores to paint custom scenes for their products. Jamieson is rumoured to have used eleven aliases as an artist to increase his sales without drawing attention from his employers. Some examples of these pseudonyms are J. McGregor, Graham Williams, Henry Stewart, HB Davis, W. Richards, A. de Perrin, Aubrey Ramus, and Stanley Penn.
Jamieson's fame has not faded, and there is
still a high demand for his paintings.
