This globe is from the 60's  ,as indicated by the presence of  Belgium congo ,British Bechuanaland ( became independent Botswana in 1966) . Little is know about  G.Thomas [1840-1903]  beside  beside being the succesor of E. Bertaud  [1840-1903 , Bertaud itself being the sucessor of Felix Delamarche  . The adress of the 17 rue de Bucci which is found on t most  Forest globe is telling us  that the  Forest globe  edition  was absorbed by GIRARD, BARRÈRE ET THOMAS  in the 1930's. 
It is in good condition ,  I believe  is a good value in term of  historical content and decorative cachet , small globe are scarce compared to the large school globe
