These river logging boots are I believe some of the first made spiked river boots. I have only seen one other pair of these boots as I have been searching for information on their life. If I am wrong, please let me know. There are a pair in the Becker County History Museum that are similar, but they have a more pronounced spike. I believe these Logging Boots should end up in a museum someday. There are some letters on the heel of one boot, but I can't make out what the maker's name is. Notice the metal heel (horseshoe shape) and toe shield. They made things to last in them days.
The size is 12E-6. I have not cleaned up the boots because a fellow collector said to me a true collector wants to do the cleaning. They are just as I found them. I feel the same way. The leather is still soft enough to jump in them and ride a log. Thanks for looking.
