This vintage salt box is a beautiful piece of art that features a multicolored nature print of a white crane bird on a square-shaped redware pottery base. The lid is made of wood and fits perfectly, making this salt box a great kitchen storage and organization piece. The item is 4 3/4" long, 3 1/2" wide, and 5.5" tall, and was made in occupied Japan between 1945 and 1952 by an unknown brand. The salt box is in its original condition and has not been modified or replicated in any way. CONDITION: Salt Box is in good vintage condition.  There is some wear on box from being displayed in kitchen from so many years.  Box was made in "Occupied Japan so dates back to at least the end of World War II. There is an etched signature into the wood on the underside of the salt box top that reads "1950 Happy Birthday Doris" which gives this piece a little bit of fun sweet history.
