Vintage 1930's Victory wooden jigsaw entitled Constructional Puzzle of a British Battleship. Puzzle No. G.B.3.
c150 wooden pieces which make up to 13" x 9.5", 33 x 24 cms and can be made up in a purpose made wooden tray
The shaped pieces which make up the battleship are 1 layer thicker than the pieces of sea surrounding it thus having a 3-D effect. All in Very Good condition in a Good box which has tape strengthened corners.
This ship is identified as H.M.S. Warspite and dated to 1938/39 in "British Jigsaw Puzzles of the 20th Century" by Tom Tyler.
The cost was 18/11d in 1939 which is worth £79 today so an expensive puzzle in its day.
