ABOUT NBR
Due to its excellent resistance to petroleum products and its ability to be compounded in a temperature range of -35°C to +120°C (-30°F to 250°F), NBR/Buna is the most widely used elastomer in the sealing industry today. In addition, many military rubber specifications call for a butyl compound for fuel and oil resistant O-rings.

It should be noted that some high temperature resistance is often sacrificed to achieve good low temperature resistance. Eyelet compounds outperform most elastomers in terms of compression set, tear and abrasion resistance. Eyelet compounds do not have good ozone, sunlight or weather resistance. They should not be stored near electric motors or other ozone-producing equipment.
