This is a beautiful handmade vintage primitive-style wood chest of drawers/dresser for doll clothes that was was recently found in an old Litchfield County home. Handmade in tramp art style. Wooden dresser was made from pieces of scrap wood and has three drawers. A really nice piece of folk art! It Is painted a rich shiny chocolate brown and has a gold accent line painted along the edges of drawers and around the edges of the curved decorative top and bottom pieces. Classic country style design. Drawers also have pretty crudely painted white flowers and greenery in the center of each drawer. Dresser stands/measures approximately 11 inches tall to top of curved piece, is 5 3/4 inches deep (to ends of "knobs,") and is 9 1/2 inches wide at widest point. "Knobs" are tack-style nails; two on each side of each drawer. Drawers open and close smoothly though as this was handcrafted they are slightly askew/off center when pushed in. This is a unique piece with lovely patina. Someone went through a lot of trouble making this and finishing it off with paint, gold trim, and painted wildflowers in the center of each drawer. Piece is in good shape; top and bottom decorative curved pieces are very slightly loose but all in all, this is a charming piece with lots of character, clean and odor-free. A really nice primitive piece for a collection or display. Thanks for looking. Now for the fine print……..
