early PAUL YSART? confetti paperweight - 8cm vintage
As there is no makers mark to the base, it is difficult to identify the who, where and when of this item, many sellers will attribute a maker like Murano etc, but I wouldn't be so bold.
With no makers mark, it is so difficult to advise much on this...
Is this an early Paul Ysart piece? It's possible, but I haven't been able to confirm... My initial thoughts were this could be from a wig stand as it is more of a dome shaped than a flattened ball type shape, and the base has what feel like a broken spur pontil (however this was how some piece could be finished, possibly earlier pieces?)... Internally it is decorated with a sprinkle of what looks like broken bits of coloured glass, with mainly pinks and whites, but some other colours, one central bubble as an upside down tear surrounded by six more smaller ones.
A lot of small light marks, plus a chip out of the side 4mm in size, looks like an impact chip.. as this is a vintage item, please assume my failing eyesight may have overlooked other small signs of wear.
Vintage paperweights can command 'silly' prices, for this reason I have listed this at what I consider to be a relatively competitive price based on my research items of similar size, design and possibly makers/vintage etc., I understand that I may be wrong, or maybe I'm being to ambitious, so, have a quick glance at my feedback, I am often open to negotiations or discussions about items, and if you want to make a low offer, please provide a little information to back up why I should accept, I am willing to learn.
