The Barbie lunch kit was made in 1962 by the American Thermos products Company. The lunch kit was marketed to Barbie fans and included a lunch box and thermos.

Ruth Handler invented Barbie in 1959 after noticing that her daughter preferred adult-like dolls over infant-like ones. Barbie's design was based on the Bild Lilli doll, which was created after a German comic strip character. Mattel bought the rights to Lilli and made their own version, Barbie.

Barbie's image appeared on many products, including this lunch kit, which was marketed to Barbie fans.

This item does NOT include a thermos bottle. Condition is very good with some wear on the interior hinge area.
