Tutankhamun was a pharaoh of ancient Egypt who ruled from around 1332 to 1323 BC. He is also known as King Tut or Tutankhaten1. He is famous for his intact tomb, which was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings. His tomb contained many treasures and artifacts, including his golden funerary mask. He was the son of Akhenaten, who had introduced a new form of monotheism to Egypt, but Tutankhamun restored the traditional religion and art of his ancestors
