Vintage Original 1945 Department of National Defence Canada Soldier's Venereal Disease STDs Document

Rare and Unique Historical World War II Document - Dated May 5, 1945

From the Department of National Defence, Army, Headquarters, Pacific Command, Vancouver, B.C.

The name on the reverse side is Wallace Wilson, Col., RCAMC Command Medical Officer Pacific Command.

The document reads, in part: "For the purpose of preventing the spread of venereal disease to the civilian population by personnel returning from overseas, 'venereal disease in a communicable form' shall include either gonorrhea, chancroid, syphilis-acquired-primary or syphillis-acquired-secondary.  All other forms of syphilis shall be considered as non-communicable." It goes on to say that individuals with these conditions would be admitted to a hospital at the port of arrival.

Document measures approximately 8 1/8" x 12 3/4".  1 Page (front/back).

This item is in fragile condition with tearing, folds, creasing, turned corners, staining and discoloration from age, handling and storage.  There is curling along the edges.  Part of the corners appear to be missing.  This was folded many times at one point.  The bottom edge folds upward.
