1948 1949 Dodge B-Series Pickup Truck Ignition Switch with Lock and Key! 48 49

Years ago I created an online public serial number decoder and truck registry under the name townwagon that provides a lot of information to help answer questions and identify your vehicle. From this and other resources I have a lot of experience determining the year and model of a truck as well as part interchanges.

Application: This is an ignition switch with door lock and matching key. Trucks from 1948-1949 only had a lock on the passenger side except for panel trucks which had a rear door lock as well.

  • 1948 to 1949 "B" Series Pilot House Dodge
    • Models: 1/2 ton B-1-B pickup to 4 ton B-1-YA
    • Styles: Pickup, Panel (Panel trucks take two locks), COE, Stake truck, Cab Chassis, etc.
  • Will fit 1950-53 trucks but the face plate on the door lock is cosmetically different.
  • Ignition switch positions are: On, Off, and Accessory. There is no start position as this era used a starter pedal.

Condition: This switch is in good condition. It turns on easily. The chrome face has some scratches but is still attractive. The door lock is in good condition and works. The ignition switch was tested for continuity across the terminals in the different positions of the ignition switch and it tested well.
