Model Plane DC-7C Swiss Air c.1960 by Raise Up Rotterdam 1:43 31" x 27.5" 6.5kg

This is a Vintage Swissair DC-7C HB-IBK "Seven Seas" scale 1:43, wingspan 31" (79cm), nose to tail 27.5" (70cms). Manufactured by the Raise-Up Corporation of Rotterdam, Holland. c. 1960.

These pieces were given to airline reps and some travel agents. This model is made of metal and is heavy. This particular model weighs over 6kg. Raise-Up Metalworks, Rotterdam was a Dutch manufacturer of aeroplane models which stopped operation in the 60s.

The Douglas DC-7C 'Seven Seas', launched in 1956, was the first Swissair airliner which enabled non-stop transatlantic flights.

The aluminium display stand and the propellers are missing. The condition of the decals is not good. This would ideally need some restoring to its original glory.

I've owned this for some 25 years and been offered large sums for it when I didn't need the money and liked having the plane around. My situation has changed and I might be brought to part with it, for enough money. (Though the idea of parting with it goes very much against the grain!)
