Description

YAMAHA CR-400

Stereo receiver with high sensitivity and cost performance.

The main amplifier section uses an all-stage direct-coupled pure complementary OCL circuit. In addition, the differential amplifier in the first stage uses FETs as a constant current source and applies sufficient negative feedback to achieve a high degree of stability.

The main amplifier circuit also serves as an active subsonic filter, with a 12dB/oct slope cut off below 20Hz (3dB down point).

The equalizer amplifier uses a monolithic IC with a 3-stage direct-coupled circuit to achieve high stability, low distortion, and high gain. Furthermore, the characteristics are improved by employing high-quality parts for the equalizer elements.

The tone-o'clock control circuit employs Yamaha's unique NF type with negative feedback between the collector and emitter of a two-stage direct-coupled amplifier to achieve straightforward control characteristics and low distortion.

The microphone mixing circuit is equipped with a dedicated 3-jewel amplifier that is independent of other program sources.

By using the Pre out terminal, the mixed signal can be recorded to tape.

The FM tuner section achieves high sensitivity and high selectivity by using a low-noise FET and triple varicon for the front end, a differential amplifier IC with good limiting characteristics and ceramic filter for the IF stage, and a dedicated IC for the MPX circuit.

The AM tuner section has a circuit design that emphasizes sound quality, resulting in less interference and beats with adjacent stations and distortion-free AM reception.

A two-meter system for signal and tuning is employed.

It has two FM antenna terminals, FM muting circuit, and loudness switch.
