Thonet have informed us that the label design on the chair was used from 1922, and that the model A 142 can be found in catalogues from the 1930s

Item condition is described as Used: This item has been used before being donated to the charity. The buyer should expect the item to show signs of wear consistent with previous use. There is wear to the surface of the chair, e.g. scuffing/rubbing which has removed the varnish, marking (including some paint), some old chips/scuffs/splits. There is a split to the edge of the seat between the 2 stiles, a small crack to the round circular stretcher between the legs, and some splits to the top of one ear. The label on the base is still mostly intact.

Dougie Mac provides all hospice services free of charge to over 3,500 children, young adults and adults with life-limiting illnesses each year in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, also offering support and care to their families and carers. We help adults living with cancer and none-cancer life limiting illnesses such as advanced heart failure, Dementia, motor neurone disease and incurable lung diseases. We provide specialist care and support services for children with life-shortening conditions, due to illness or injury, from birth until they no longer need us.
