What we have here is TWO Fantastic Old c1880-1910 (approximately 110-140 years old!) Albumen Silver Photos of Japan by KUSAKABE KIMBEI (1841-1934) with Hand Painted Color Tinting in portions of the images. One image includes female performer on stage, audience below. The second image titled "GENERAL VIEW OF OTSU CITY FROM MIIDERA" includes temple and city view below. Photos come from a dismantled photo book which contained dozens of photos, one edge has remnants of cloth book hinge. Both photos are mounted on the same ONE piece of hard card paper, one photo on each side (front and back). Each actual image measures approximately 11 inches by 8 1/2 inches and is mounted on hard card paper which measures approximately 13 1/4 inches by 10 1/4 inches total. These are wonderful photos with great character and subject matter. Actual images have better detail and of nicer image quality than seen in my ebay photos... displays well. These are old photos which show age and use. Old used condition... may have weathering, fading, dust, soiling, staining, mildew, foxing, yellowing, marks, spots, rubs, scratches, bumps, rips, tears, cracks, peeling, chips, repairs, holes, losses and other imperfections etc. Please look at the images and you decide for yourself the value and condition. Colours in photos may vary from original item depending on camera exposures and viewing monitors. Enjoy for a lifetime or resell for a profit! These are good historic photographs, don't let them get away... bid early and snipe high because someone else wants this!
