Item Description
An incredibly rare large format promotional board that was used to promote Queen’s 1975 album ‘A Night At The Opera’. The board has been autographed by Freddie Mercury on the front in blue ballpoint pen. Freddie has added the inscription ‘Best Wishes to Tracey’ above his name. The autograph was obtained outside the Capital Radio building, London, England in 1975. The signature itself is extremely large measuring 26cm (10.25 inches) wide x 13cm (5 inches) high. The board measures 74.5cm x 74.5cm (29.35 inches x 29.35 inches). There is some damage to the bottom edge and staining in places. The condition is good. Provenance: accompanied by two photographs of the original recipient with Freddie Mercury and a letter of provenance that reads as follows: ‘I met Freddie many times and the Night At The Opera promo board was signed at Capital Radio Warren St./Euston Road in 1975. On the occasion Brian May picked up the promo board and Freddie signed it and gave it to me. The photos shows me + Freddie outside Capital Radio on the evening when he signed the item’.
