Antique 1930’s Art Deco Ave Maria & Westminster Chiming Mantel Clock (Battery).

This is a antique 1930’s British presentation Ave Maria & Westminster chiming mantel clock. This has been converted from a mechanical mechanism to a battery operated mechanism. It is in excellent condition and is in full working order. It has a beautiful original 1930's Art Deco style oak body with decorative carvings to each side of the case. The oak has a medium/dark brown coloured finish with a darker visible grain and a soft subtle shine. The face is circular in shape with a silver coloured metal chapter ring, black coloured numerals and black coloured hands. The face is protected by a convex glass window with a chromed metal bezel. The glass is in excellent condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. To the rear is the door to the mechanism chamber. The door is intact and also in excellent condition. This chimes on the hour (chiming the numbers of hours).

The presentation plaque reads: Presented to Mr T. Brindley by the staff of the Refuge Assurance Co. Ltd. Stafford District on his promotion as Superintendent to the Ludlow District. August 9th 1939.
