I believe that this 7 1/4" doll with a porcelain head, hands, and feet that are attached to a handmade limply stuffed body is an early Gail Wilson Kit doll that was assembled and creatively painted by the purchaser of the kit.  The doll's facial painting is appealing, though "streaky" in its application and speckled with tiny dots of white paint splatter.  The dark speck on the doll's lower left cheek appears to be a ding in the porcelain.  Paint is flaking off the doll's porcelain, more notably along her feet and on her back shoulder head, revealing the white porcelain beneath.  She has been dressed in a homemade blue and black calico printed dress, an off-white pinafore, a coordinating bonnet, and pantalets that may need laundering to remove age-related soil.  Included are a pair of white stockings and a blue hair ribbon.  The elastic portions of the dress at its cuffs and on the pantalets have stretched.  Though she may require "sprucing up," she is a cutie that is marked on the back of her head.  I can only discern the copyright symbol and the word "KIT."  Though initialed, I cannot decipher the letters.  Again, I believe this doll is an early Gail Wilson "Duggan" kit doll that was lovingly painted and assembled by her purchaser.
