The less said about the D/J the better. Though the main image is intact it is only held together by much historic clean tape.

Signed to the FFEP by author with gift inscription and dated 1st Dec 1956. Also inside in clear plastic non-adhesive packet is an abstract of the log for Southampton to New York voyage October 1953, also signed by author.

Commodore H. Grattidge (1870-1979) was a famous ships Master for Cunard Line.

One of the B/W plates in this book is a remarkable picture of the RMS Lancastria in 1940 evacuating British troops and civilians from France. Absolutely horrific. The largest single ship sinking loss of life in British Maritime history. Unknown but between 4000 and 7000 are believed to have perished. Hitler's total war.

A rare collectors piece.
