George Harrison's immortal milestone "All Things Must Pass," now celebrating its 50th anniversary, is available in a special 2CD collector's edition from the SGT label. The "50th Anniversary Special Collector's Edition" includes new remixes of George's classic solo album, "All Things Must Pass," which reached No. 1 in the U.S. in 1970.
CD1 is a "multi-track alternate remix" of the entire album, with the exception of Apple Jam, which is a unique remix of the entire album. The original sound was produced by Phil Spector and tended to bury vocals and other instruments, but the official 50th anniversary remixes have a much clearer sound image. The remixes are based on multi-track recordings, with the vocals and instruments completely separated from each other. In addition to the stereo separation of the different instruments, the main vocal track comes to the forefront with a high resolution sound image. The sound image is very different from the original and previous remasters when listened to through headphones, and the difference in the realism of the sound is even more apparent.
CD2 contains an instrumental track without vocals as a "multi-track instrumental remix. This is also a unique remix based on a multitrack sound source in which each instrument is completely separated from the others, and the stereo separation is different from that of the alternate remix. The result is a version that emphasizes the magnificence of the performance itself, including the detailed sound that was previously inaudible. This is the first time that the original remixes have appeared on the market.
Three additional bonus tracks, "All Things Must Pass," "I Live For You," and "My Sweet Lord (2000)" are also included. This special 50th anniversary collector's edition of George's masterpiece "All Things Must Pass" is a remarkable collection of reference recordings that delve deep into the album.
