50s HOLLAND Spur Tie Clip-Sterling Silver-RALSTON PURINA-American Royal Horse-TX

DESCRIPTION:

Vintage tie clip.  

By HOLLAND, San Angelo, Texas.  Sterling silver.  "Spurclip" tie clip featuring a miniature spur suspended by chain.  The spur is beautifully hand decorated on yoke and shank and has a functional rowel.  There is a presentation shield in the center of spur with gold front and silver back.  All original.

The shield is tastefully engraved on both sides:  the gold side is engraved "53 - American Royal Horse Judging";  the silver side is engraved "Ralston Purina Livestock Judging Awards " with Purina logo.  

Maker's marks:  spur stamped "Holland - Sterling".  

Circa 1950.  USA.  

CONDITION:

Excellent original condition.  No damage and no significant wear.  No restorations / repairs.   

Used, not abused.

No dings, dents, bends, breaks, scuffs, cracks.  No significant scratches or rubs.   

Old patina as found with some light typical age-related oxidation.
