This -ATLAS- MASON'S PATENT Purple Quart Glass Ball Fruit Canning jar has a ledge shoulder with an ATLAS zinc lid. This jar is listed as "new" as it is in fabulous condition and if used, was handled with care. There are no chips or cracks and the lip is in good condition. The side seams and various seeds throughout make it a beautiful piece for any collection. Zoom in to see the details, it is riddled with tiny seeds. There is a slurry in the mold around the back and side seams that give this jar movement. It has an ATLAS zinc lid with the "A" on top and a milk glass insert, not necessarily unique to this jar. The mold has a pinched off circle on the base, with one side slightly indented.

This exquisite purple jar is a must-have for any collector of modern jars and bottles. It measures 7" tall by 4" wide. It previously lived in a display cabinet in a smoke free home. The date of manufacture was in the early 1900's. A wonderful piece of American history to share with others!

This beautiful piece will be packaged and shipped with the utmost care via USPS Ground Advantage (unless other method selected) to be received in the original manner pictured.

****Interesting history on the ATLAS MASON'S Ball jar:   The glass company Hazel-Atlas, which is also known for making depression glass, began production around 1902. The Atlas Mason jars were among some of their most important products. These old canning jars come in a variety of different styles and often feature the Atlas name somewhere on the glass.
