There is no other way to describe this amazing doll other than as a work of art. She is stunning with such attention to detail throughout.  

With a beautiful hand painted face (and hair) on her wooden head, partially stuffed cloth arms, body and upper legs, with wooden hands and wooden feet.

Her exquisite costume includes: Floral and ribbons head dress, velvet bodice with gold embroidery and beaded decoration, apron, floral skirt with 3 petticoats, white, red and blue, all finished with lace trim, cotton shirt and shift/underpants, brown stockings and wonderful red leather boots. She also wears two coral bead necklaces.

The doll is probably a Works Progress Administration doll (possibly Minneapolis) but I am not an expert with antique dolls and am happy to amend/include any information from collectors. I have not undressed the doll, so there might be some clue to the maker on her body.
