Here we have a vintage Protector Lamp & Lighting Co Eccles Type 6  M & Q Miners Lamp.

The makers badge to the front reads THE PROTECTOR LAMP & LIGHTING Co LTD TYPE MAKERS ECCLES, MANCHESTER

Its is also engraved to base : Alan Purdy MS Mining Div. 1982.1988. In Appreciation American Longwall. 

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are 3 1/4 " / 8.5 cm diameter across base x 9 3/4 " / 25 cm high

The lamp is in very good condition and shows signs of little use. The brass has just aged as would be expected but could be polished to shiny brass according to personal taste.
