ALWAYS WASH JAPAN DIRECT RECORDS . MILDEW
IS USUALLY SURFACE NOISE SOURCE . One can't see it but it's there . Just like Windex or Discwasher . One gets a crackle effect . But the record looks clean , quite often.
When buying records . Just look at the label for spindle marks . Expensive record cleaning machines work nice records that need to be CLEANED . They do not remove groove damage over poor playback abuse . A really clean record . May look it . After cleaning . But will still have that hideous surface noise .
You don't need a $500 cartridge . All you need is a Good/New stylus . VTA . And overhang and at least a $400- $500 vintage turntable . Denon Pioneers can be bought fairly cheap . A Marantz (No Mech Engineering etc..) , New cheap turntables . Are designed to grind new territory into the record .
There is no such thing as a Audiophile Automatic Turntable .
