SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE musical revue VHS Live from Broadway 2000 Brenda Braxton

This is “Smokey Joe's Café: Live from Broadway – One Night Only,” a previously-owned video-cassette-tape (VHS) issued by MM Broadway Television Network in 1993. It plays perfectly, runs approximately 55 minutes, and comes in the original slipcase. Of note, it is an ‘advance screening’ copy, so it may have occasionally flashing text at the bottom of the screen.

“Smokey Joe's Café” is a musical revue showcasing 39 pop standards, including rock and roll and rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. After a Los Angeles tryout, the revue opened on Broadway in 1995, running for 2,036 performances, making it the longest-running musical revue in Broadway history. It also had a London run in 2021. This particular tape features the show's final Broadway cast -- Ken Ard, Adrian Bailey, Matt Bogart, Brenda Braxton, Victor Trent Cook, B.J. Crosby, DeLee Lively, Deb Lyons, Fredrick B. Owens, and Virginia Woodruff.
