Flatbed trailer train (Scania 111)

"Börje Jönsson"

Legendary Scania 111 in shipping company colors from Börje Jönsson

Since Börje Jönsson founded his trucking company in 1954, the course has been set for expansion. The Scania 111 also began operating abroad early on - the Hamburg location has been one of them for a long time. International traffic in particular increased significantly at the end of the 1950s and then became the most important business area in the 1960s. When Scania introduced the progressive cab-over-engine generation of the “110” series in 1968, WIKING reacted quickly to Scania’s market efforts and presented the associated model for the first time in 1971. Numerous combinations were to follow and were also able to convince the numerous WIKING model friends in Scandinavia. For this reason alone, the traditional model makers used the Scania front-control generation in numerous combinations as a trailer combination and semi-trailer train - many of them with container loads. Model makers were later helped by the fact that the new “111” series in 1975 only had a nuanced facelift character, so that in 1977 WIKING introduced a similar type update and ensured a variety of models well into the 1980s.
