This is a very special piece of American pottery. It is a beige pottery/stoneware butter crock with green accents.  It says "BUTTER" on one side and has a floral/apricot pattern around the outer edge.  There is also a Honeycomb pattern on sides of lid with Swirled patterns on the side of crock.  This crock stands approximately 4 inches tall and 7 inches wide.  It is unmarked.  It comes as shown with it's original lid.  I was only able to find one matching and it was sold in February.  I believe it to be fairly rare.  Crock is in good antique/vintage pre-owned condition.  Crazing does exist under the glaze throughout the piece.  It no longer has it's wire HANDLE.  NO HANDLE. There is a small nick to the top inside edge of the bottom (penny used to show scale) as well as a few small nicks to the bottom edge of the lid.  Please see photos for close up examples. There is also a semi circle type crack on the lid.  I have applied a thin coat of clear glue to help stabilize the area (inside and out).  Overall the piece is in good condition considering it's age.  It does show wear consistent with it's age and many years of use.  Please review and enlarge all photos for additional details, views and measurements. If you would like to see additional photos, please ask.  Shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
