Sandalwood oil is extracted from the heartwood of the Santalum Album tree, the tree gives the oil after 30 years of planting. The Mysore Sandalwood, native to the Mysore region, India, is the one with the highest levels of Santalol (more than 91%).

It is strictly regulated by the government, all the Sandalwood plantations have to be handed over to the government and it sells them at auction. Companies that distill Sandalwood have to buy it at these auctions. Sandalwood is the 3rd most expensive in the world, Ebony being the first, and Agarwood the second. It is for this reason that Sandalwood is so expensive. If you want Sandalwood at cheaper prices, you have the option of Sandalwood with 78% Santalol, which is a lower quality Sandalwood oil, although it still has a very good aroma.

One of the most luxurious essential oils, scarce and with many uses. Ideal for perfumery and develop very select aromas. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if you want a small sample to check its quality.
