Act 1

The show starts with a peddler telling us about a special lamp that Agrabah is most well known for.

In the Palace garden, the Sultan complains about why Jasmine can't find a prince to marry while Jasmine tries to persuade him to let her be free. She then explains that she wants to marry for love and not by some law. Somewhere else within the Palace, the royal vizer Jafar and his sidekick Iago plot on stealing the magic lamp in the Cave of Wonders, hypnotizing the Sultan in the process.

Against the wishes of her father, she heads out of the palace to visit the marketplace, where the guards are in the middle of chasing Aladdin for stealing a loaf of bread as he tries to stay "one jump ahead". Aladdin then notices a newcomer to the market, and helps her when one of the merchants accuses her of stealing. Aladdin and Jasmine talk about how they wish their lives could be better. The Captain of the Guards then find them, and tries to arrest them until Princess Jasmine reveals her identity to them.

Aladdin realizes that she was the Princess and feels like he doesn't have a chance. Eventually, Jafar disguised as a beggar asks Aladdin to help him get something from the Cave of Wonders, a magical lamp that allows the power to whoever rubs it. Abu touches anything other than the lamp causing them to be trapped inside the cave. Aladdin notices the lamp, and rubs it freeing the all powerful Genie who's been trapped for over 10 million years. The Genie then uses everything in his power to show him the power he has, and frees him from the cave.

Act 2

Aladdin asks Genie what he wishes for the most in the world, and that is freedom. He promises freedom as he makes his first wish: to make him a Prince to impressive to impressive Princess Jasmine.

Genie then holds a parade in honor of the new Prince's honor. However, Jasmine is not impressed. Genie suggests that he tells Jasmine the truth, and he refuses. Aladdin still in his prince disguise takes Jasmine on a magical carpet ride. After the time of their lives, Jafar sends Aladdin to a watery grave. But luckily, Genie arrives in a submarine finding Aladdin, using his second wish to save his life. At the time, Aladdin breaks the promise to Genie and wants to stay as a Prince, not to make Jasmine worried.

A betrayed Genie, back in his lamp, is accidentally found by Jafar, and with his new master, helps humiliate Aladdin and reveal his true identity to the Princess. Aladdin uses his smart and quick thinking to make Jafar wish for him to become the most powerful Genie in the world. But with phenomenal cosmic powers, comes an itty bitty living space. The Sultan changes the law to allow the Princess to marry whoever she wants, and Aladdin makes his final wish to free the Genie. Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, and Genie celebrate their new lives of freedom .
