Here is a nice 7.875" tall, 3.75" diameter, early pontiled hand blown glass pantry storage jar or apothecary drugstore jar from the 1860s with its original tin lid....hand blown in dip mold, so there are no mold seams....rough pontil scar on bottom....crude smooth sheared & fire polished wide mouth......clear glass. Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean jar with only some light old wear. Original tin lid has some rust but is solid. Lid fits nicely. Guaranteed authentic and over 150 years old. This type of jar was very popular in the mid-1800s for storing herbs, beans, dried goods,etc at home. Also druggists used this type of jar for storing powdered medicines and dried ingredients for compounding prescriptions.

Condition: Near Mint, NO chips, cracks or dings. Has some light wear from use. Tin lid has some surface rust, but is solid with no holes or damage. I grade this one a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.
