Founded
in 1980 The London Transport Museum is housed in a former Victorian Flower
Market in Covent Garden, London and seeks to conserve and explain the
transport heritage of England's capital city. The remit of the museum has
expanded to cover all aspects of transportation in the city.
The Museum operates from two
sites within London. The main site is in Covent Garden and the other location
is the Acton Depot, which is open on visitor days throughout the year.
The collection encompasses over 45,000 artifacts;
everything from buses, trams, trolleybuses and rail vehicles to posters,
signage, models and uniforms.
