OS Max 21 FSR RC Buggy & Car Racing Model Engine Vintage!

One vintage OS Max from Japan!

A vintage mid 1970's OS Max, the very first OS Schnuerle ported 1/8 RC car engine.

The chief engineer at OS turned the crankcase about 30 degrees clockwise thereby improving volumetric efficiency & gas flow into larger inlet ports & eliminated leakage associated via gudgeon pin & eliminated the gudgeon pin circlips (the bits that can break above 20,000rpm).  The crankcase is a 1-piece diecast aluminium alloy affair, machined con-rod bushed at both ends (2 lube holes at the big-end side), hardened chrome molybdenum steel crankshaft running in dual ball bearings, buggy cylinder head with horizontal fins & the easy to tune twin needle OS 2C car RC carb with automatic mixture control.

Tech Specs (from OS)
Displacement: 3.463cc
Bore: 16.6mm
Stroke: 16mm
Checked weight: 218g

This engine could be used in a vintage 1/8 Kyosho buggy, e.g. Dune, Circuit, Peanuts, Datsun / Nissan Fairlady 240Z, Landjump, etc, or could be put on display as one of the most sought after OS car engines (the 1st OS FSR 1/8 car model engine).

Condition wise, this engine is new & turns over smoothly.  Engine comes with shelf worn box, papers (2C RC carb instructions & a copy of the 21FSR ABC instructions is included for information) & tools set in open packet (spanner, Allen key & RC carb needle).  The patina & burnish reflect its age.  Please see photos.

About the new "ebay payments" interface just introduced by ebay & its effect on dispatch time
We all got used to ebay purchases with PayPal payments, that cleared immediately, resulting in fast dispatch.  Ebay have now introduced "ebay payments".  Ebay are saying "The payout will generally be initiated within 2 business days from the order confirmation. Once initiated it typically takes up to 4 business days for the funds to clear in your account and become available to you".  The onus is on the seller to keep checking when payment has cleared.  Thusly, this new "ebay payments" interface could add up to 6 working days to dispatch time compared to the aforementioned PayPal payments.  I imagine somebody will get a bonus for this.  This new payments thingy forced upon us (you can't opt-out of it) has therefore added 5 working days to my dispatch time.  Please bear this in mind before placing your bid.

Please note the item is for sale by a private individual & in accordance with section 2.18 of the DTI (Department of Trade & Industry) OFT (Office of Fair Trading) Distance Selling Guide Sept 2006, the guidance for UK implementation of the EU consumer DSR (Distance Selling Regulations), so this item is NOT subject to return nor refund. By placing a bid on this item you fully understand (1) no return of item, (2) no refund for said item & (3) stated postage & packing charges.  Most hobbyists understand that even some manufacturers in this hobby do not accept warranty claims due to "the nature of the hobby" & set their expectations accordingly
